Antique Afghan earrings with beads

A pair of antique earrings from Afghanistan, made of a silver-like metal—probably 800 fineness, typical of handmade jewelry from this region. The lack of markings doesn't rule out silver, but the material hasn't been laboratory tested.

The earrings have a unique design based on two connected rhomboid and round segments, decorated with a granulation technique. Small spheres cover almost the entire surface, giving the form a raw, textured character characteristic of older nomadic jewelry.

At the end of each earring is a crisscrossing trispherical motif, perhaps symbolizing fertility or protection, often found in jewelry with amulet significance. The form suggests handcrafted craftsmanship, with minor imperfections remaining, testifying to the item's authenticity and age.

The earrings are recommended for lovers of ethnic style and collectors of antique jewelry. They carry within them the echo of the desert, history and craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation.
